From Lund, Sweden is Qlikview

 

QlikTech was founded in 1993 as a consulting company in Lund Sweden, it developed a tool for analyzing multi-dimensional data, Qlikview, one of many solutions that QlikTech developed.

 

At the core of QlikView is a flexible reporting and analysis tool for turning data into knowledge. QlikView allows for, dynamic a user to analysis and present any data that has been extracted from any number of data sources. There is almost a limitless number of ways in which the data can be requested through QlikView’s use of Associative Query Logic (AQL). QlikView is almost not a BI solution but instead a Knowledge Solution, QlikView promotes unrestricted analysis of application data, helping users make time-saving and accurate decisions.

 

The user does need to have an understanding of what the data is and how it can be made useful, but as it is the user’s data this is not a step too far. Allowing for the vagaries of the data being different from user to user, with some using historical and some using current data, QlikView allows for the data to be unconstrained by pre-wired BI architectures. This again does work on the assumption that the users will have an understanding of the data they are working with.

 

The challenge of BI to overcome large and small reporting issues is also handled by the user’s ability to determine which is the crucial data, therefore allowing QlikView to be used on a single piece of data or to encompass all data from many sources; this is delivered by keeping a non pre-defined path for the reporting and dashboard creation.
